The Home Ministry has called a meeting on Thursday to decide on the transfer of IAS and IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre. A meeting to be held under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla may also decide on the deployment of Goa's next police chief. At the same time, there will be discussion on calling or sending officers from Jammu and Kashmir.
After the demise of Goa DGP Pranab Nanda, a new deployment is to be done there. Home Ministry has specially invited Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik in the meeting. The Delhi Police has been under questions for some months over cases such as clashes with lawyers in Tis Hazari Court and police action on students in Jamia.
The top Home Ministry official also said earlier that the Delhi Police has been warned that negligence in law and
order will not be tolerated. All members of the Joint Cadre Authority will participate in this meeting.
