Jamia Nagar and New Friends Colony clashed fiercely between police and protesters Sunday evening in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. According to police, some protesters set the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) two buses and a cluster bus and two firefighters on fire. Also several motorcycles were set on fire. During this time, the passersby and common people passing by the spot became life-threatening. People entered nearby houses to save lives.

Umesh, the driver of Route No. 894, who was bringing the cluster bus from Karmapura towards Akhela Abul Fazl, said that he was coming to Jamia Nagar on behalf of Ashram. Meanwhile, a crowd of hundreds of protesters started throwing stones at the buses and set the buses on fire. Umesh said that in view of the crowd, he asked the riders to get off the bus and go to safe places and saved their lives by jumping from the bus itself. Tension remained in the area till late night
Hisank clash followed by Jamia Nagar, Okhla, Kalindi Kunj, Abul Fazal, New Friends Colony, Holy Family, Timur Nagar, Zakir Nagar, Mathura Road Tension persisted till late in the night. High officials of Delhi Police were present on the spot to monitor the situation. Along with this, paramilitary forces besides Delhi Police were deployed in the area, so that law and order would be maintained.

Jam jammed in many areas
After this incident Mathura Road, Kalindi Kunj, Sarita Vihar, Okhla, Jamia Nagar, Taimur Nagar, Shaheen Bagh area got jammed. People were stuck in the jam for hours. The traffic police had changed the direction of most of the routes in these areas. Due to this people also had a lot of problems. By late night, people coming from Kalindi Kunj to Noida and from Noida to Sarita Vihar had to jam two to four. People arrived at their homes quite late.
