Badarpur Assembly of Delhi RWA (Resident Welfare Association) of many wards of the area has announced boycott of Delhi elections. He has said that this time people will vote for NOTA in his assembly. People of the area alleged that the leaders had promised to authorize their colony but no one kept their promise.

Shakti Vihar RWA President KK Singh said that due to wrong aerial survey of DDA many areas of Badarpur have been included in 'O' zone i.e. Yamuna area. After this, people of Jaitpur, Mithapur etc. area of Badarpur are demanding to exclude the area from the periphery of 'O' zone. He says that his colony is five to six kilometers away from the Yamuna river, so it cannot be placed in the 'O' zone.

Earlier in September 2013, these areas were put in 'F' zone. But then an NGO objected to this by going to the National Green Tribunal

(NGT).

Later when the local RWA went to the National Green Tribunal, they sent it to the Expert Committee. At the same time, the Expert Committee has asked the National Green Tribunal to place it in 'Special Zone' instead of 'O' Zone.

Later in January 2015, NGT scrapped its order and ordered demarcation again. . But after this nothing happened. President of the 'O' Zone Mukti Sangharsh Samiti, Delhi Pradesh, Anil Sharma said, 'Resident Welfare of Badarpur area Om Vihar, Saurabh Vihar, Hari Nagar, Jaitapur with a large population has decided to boycott the Delhi election.

Sarjit Singh, a resident of Chaukanwatika, told that when the NGT abolished its own order, the DDA has to take a decision about ending the 'O' zone itself. This is why development has stalled in our area and we cannot build our houses.

On the other hand, Rajya Sabha MP from Aam Aadmi Party Sanjay Singh has said that if our government comes to Delhi then we will Will authorize colonies.
