The new liquor policy for the new fiscal year will see a number of changes, including the addition of FDs instead of land, adding the condition to make liquor contracts attractive instead of tinsheds. Recently, after the meetings with the contractors and officers, the department has started a change in liquor policy. In fact, in the last few years, various contractors have had a recovery of around Rs.250 crores for the government.
Since the first land documents were taken while taking licenses and there were many legal disruptions in seizing the land. . Therefore, the department is neither able to recover nor the land is being acquired. In view of this problem, the Excise Department is now preparing to change the current liquor policy. Principal Secretary Excise Sanjay Kundu said that in many cases some difficulties were encountered during the recovery after which a change
in the excise policy is being considered to take bank guarantee or fix deposit instead of property documents.
