Ranchi. The counting of votes cast for the 81 seats of the Jharkhand Assembly will begin at 8 am on Monday. Votes were cast here in 5 phases from 30 November to 20 December. A total of 65.23% voting was done. In the 2014 assembly elections, 66.6% of the votes were cast here. Any party will have to get a figure of 41 seats for a majority. Five exit polls were revealed after the final phase of voting was completed. Among them, the Congress-JMM-RJD coalition was projected to gain power.

Dumka: There is a contest between Luis Marandi of BJP, Hemant Soren of JMM and Anjula Murmu of JVM. Hemant Soren is the candidate of the Grand Alliance. Marandi defeated Soren by 6 thousand votes while being Chief Minister in 2014. Prime Minister Modi held a public meeting in this assembly.
BARHET: Hemant Soren is also contesting here. The BJP has fielded Simone Malto here. This seat is considered a JMM stronghold. The JMM has been in occupation here for 30 years. Hemant Soren won from here in 2014. This time he is pitted against BJP's Pahadia tribe candidate Simone Malto.
