The Tihar Jail Administration has issued a notice to Akshay Kumar Singh, a resident of Nirbhaya, that he has now exhausted all legal options except the mercy petition in the Nirbhaya case. If he wishes, he can file a mercy petition before the President within seven days of receiving this notice.
Akshay is yet to grant mercy petition. If Akshay does not do this then it will be presumed that he is not willing to file mercy petition. Then further action will be taken in this matter. This notice was issued only on December 18.
