The Prime Minister's Office has taken strict notice on the prevalence of drug addiction in Himachal. Senior Congress leader and MLA Ramlal Thakur had written a written complaint to PM Narendra Modi that the drug trade is increasing rapidly in the state. The younger generation of the state is getting caught in the grip of drugs. It is being told that on this complaint of Ramlal Thakur, the PMO has sent a letter to the office of Chief Minister Jairam Thakur. The Himachal government has also assured to take action on the matter.

Recently, senior Congress leader Ramlal Thakur sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In it, there was concern about the growing drug business in Himachal. It also sought to take appropriate action in the case. He wrote in the letter that till now, Udta Punjab was called, but now the drug business is spreading fast in Himachal.

Letter No. RPG-B (15) 2/2018-B LP-3 has been sent by the Additional Chief Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Public Grievances Department to the concerned Congress leader in this regard. It states that the matter has been sent to the concerned department to resolve it. A letter has also been sent to the Prime Minister's Office in this regard.
