Due to record eight feet of snowfall on Rohtang Pass, the Manali-Leh road has been closed for vehicular movement three weeks earlier. Even though the route is officially closed from November 15 to May, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) has been restoring it for the convenience of the people during the season opening till December 31.

Traffic from Rohtang Tunnel is closed from 25 November, while Rohtang Pass is closed from 19 November. Although the BRO had restored the snow by removing it from the pass, it has been closed again due to the icy storm surrounding Rohtang for a week.
Many needy people along with Lahaul patients are allowed to pass through the pass. – Waited to cross but now their concern has increased. Meanwhile, Lahaul administration has opened booking centers at the helipads of Lahaul along with Kullu about a month ago to start helicopter service. In Kullu, 260 people have gone to Lahaul and about 150 people have applied in Lahaul to come to Kullu.
Rohtang Pass has received heavy snowfall. The BRO has opened main roads in the interior of Lahaul. The work
of removing snow from the Rohtang Pass has not started yet. Snow removal is also expected in the coming days.
