इनमें चंदौली में 6, हमीरपुर में 4, बांदा, बलिया व गाजीपुर में 2-2, वाराणसी, भदोही, जौनपुर, आजमगढ़, मऊ, चित्रकूट, महोबा, फतेहपुर व हाथरस में एक-एक की मौत हुई है। प्रदेश में बागपत में न्यूनतम तापमान 4.9, मुजफ्फनरगर में 5 और सहारनपुर 6 व वाराणसी में 8.4 डिग्री सेल्सियस रिकॉर्ड किया गया।

फिलहाल ठंड से राहत के कोई आसार नहीं नजर आ रहे हैं। पूर्वांचल में बीते 24 घंटे में 15 लोगों की जान चली गई। चंदौली जिले में मजनू (5), इंद्रनाथ सिंह चौहान (62), लक्ष्मण यादव (65), रज्जन मौर्या (60), रामवृक्ष मौर्य (60) और वीरेंद्र माली (55) की ठंड से मौत हो गई।

गाजीपुर में चमेला देवी (68) व रेखा (6) और बलिया में शिव शंकर यादव उर्फ पेटू (70), उपेंद्र यादव (48) की मौत हुई है। इसके अलावा वाराणसी में सिताबुन (75), भदोही में राजनारायण गुप्ता उर्फ नबी (53), जौनपुर में सालिक राम (50) और आजमगढ़ में बालचंद (58) तथा मऊ में एक अज्ञात वृद्ध की भी मौत हो गई।

बुंदेलखंड के महोबा में रूपरानी (70), हमीरपुर में समर (7), गजराज यादव (75), फूलमती (85) व सुखदेई सिंह (90) की भी ठंड से जान चली गई। चित्रकूट में जगदीश प्रसाद, बांदा में दुर्गेश लोध (38) और झंडू (90) की मौत हुई है। उधर, फतेहपुर जिले के असोथर क्षेत्र के बेसढ़ी गांव निवासी सेवानिवृत्त शिक्षक राजविभीषण राजपूत व हाथरस में अलीगढ़ रोड स्थित गांव तमनागढ़ी में एक बुजुर्ग की ठंड से मौत हो गई।
