In the 2010 assembly elections when JDU and BJP were together, JDU contested 141 seats in 224 assembly seats in the state.
Of this, JDU was successful in winning 115 seats. At the same time, BJP had won 102 seats, winning 91. However, in the Lok Sabha elections-19, JDU and BJP were contested on 17-17 seats in 40 Lok Sabha seats of the state. For this, JDU gave four seats to the 21 seats won by BJP in 2014.
According to JDU sources, this time since Ram Vilas Paswan will also have a party in the alliance, JDU can contest about 125, BJP about 90 and LJP elections in the rest of the seats. But the BJP will press for an equal seat till the end and will not accept this condition easily. The coalition is hopeful that seat sharing may be announced in Bihar in the next one month.
