Bengaluru. Supreme Court Chief Justice SA Babde is exploring the possibility of implementing artificial system in courts to prevent unnecessary delays in justice. He said this at a conference of judicial officers in Bengaluru on Saturday. His remarks are important in view of the large number of pending cases in the courts. The Chief Justice made it clear that Artificial Intelligence will not replace the judges. This can be taken only for the repetitive, mathematic and mechanical parts of the decision.

CJI said, "Many times judges have also questioned me about bringing this technology. I want to make it clear that Artificial Intelligence is not going to replace human judges. It cannot replace human conscience. ”He said it is important for the courts to ensure that there is no undue delay in getting justice. For this purpose, there is a possibility to develop artificial intelligence systems for the courts.
It is our responsibility to ensure that justice is done quickly
We also have the talents and skills that we can use and make sure that we get justice within a reasonable time. Delay in justice should not be the reason for anyone taking law into their own hands. The Chief Justice also lobbied to arrange for arbitration before the case was filed. He said that this is the need of the hour.

has previously supported the use of AI. Chief Justice
Before becoming CJI, Justice Bobde said that artificial intelligence and high technology is necessary in the courts. During the Nagpur High Court Bar Association's program last month, he had mentioned the merits of AI during the discussion. However, former CJI RM Lodha expressed concern over the use of AI in court proceedings. He appealed to Chief Justice Bobde to look into the good and bad aspects of this before including artificial intelligence in the decision making process.
