The Supreme Court sought a response from the AAP government on a plea seeking a policy for children's sports activities in Delhi's parks. The court has issued notice to the Delhi government, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, National and State Child Rights Protection Commission to file their reply within four weeks.
A bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Suryakant on Wednesday The notice was issued while hearing the petition against the High Court's order of September 20, 2019. This petition has been filed by local resident Rajiv Suri.
The High Court, in its order, had refused to give instructions to the government and other bodies for policy making for sports activities of children in parks. The High Court had left the matter with the authorities concerned to formulate and implement the policy.
