A teacher died under suspicious circumstances in Rani Bagh area of outer Delhi. On Tuesday morning, Sonali Goyal (31) was found dead in her room. The in-law side says that Sonali has given her life by hanging herself. On the other hand, Sonali's maternal grandfather has accused the in-laws side of strangling her to death.
Apart from the police, the regional SDMs are investigating the case. After preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case of dowry murder and torture and arrested Sonali's husband Dr. Ankur Garg.
Sonali used to live in Ranibagh area with Goyal family. The family consists of husband Dr. Ankur Garg, a son of two and a half years and other members. Sonali was a teacher in a government school in Azadpur. Her husband is a doctor in the ministry. Sonali's Maika is in the Majlis Park area. Sonali was married to Ankur in July 2017.
Both had their second marriage. On Tuesday morning, at around 8.50 am, Ankur called Sonali's father Satish Goyal and told him that Sonali has set a trap. On receiving the information, Satish immediately reached Sonali's in-laws house with his family.
There he saw that his daughter was lying dead on the floor. Apart from the in-laws, the police was also present there. Satish alleges that the height of the bed from the fan is high, his daughter cannot afford suicide there.
Regional SDMs also reached the spot as soon as the matter was reported. Satish said in his statement that Ankur and his family were constantly demanding Rs 35 lakh.
On Monday, his daughter also mentioned this on her mother's mobile. Earlier on December 27, Sonali
also told this to her brother. Following the statements of family members, the police registered a case and arrested Ankur Garg.
