Former police IG Abdul Rahman, who’s going to give a speech against the Citizenship Amendment Act at Aligarh Muslim University, was intercepted by the police in Lodha on Sunday and sent back to Delhi. The former IPS officer stated that he was known as by the scholar group to converse on CAA, NRC and NPR.
Abdul Rahman stated, “I was called by the AMU Student Union to speak on CAA, NRC, NPR. When I reached Kheda, I was taken to the police station and they said that if I go there, there will be some problem and there is danger of law and order. ”
He stated, “Therefore I will do what I have been told and I understand their feelings.” On his request I’m going back to Delhi. “
A police officer stated, “Abdul Rahman was known as to the college. When I received the data, I introduced him to the police station and requested him to return. He agreed and went back. ”He was an APS officer and resigned from his job in December.
