जामिया मामले को लेकर दिनभर देश के अलग-अलग हिस्सों में प्रदर्शन हुए। दिल्ली में जामिया के बाहर कड़ाके की सर्दी में छात्रों ने कपड़े उतारकर प्रदर्शन किया और पुलिस कार्रवाई की सीबीआई जांच की मांग की। वहीं, कुलपति नजमा अख्तर ने जामिया को बदनाम न करने और पूरे मामले की उच्च स्तरीय जांच कराने की मांग की। रजिस्ट्रार ने पुलिस पर छात्राओं से दुर्व्यवहार का आरोप लगाया और कहा कि प्रशासन पुलिस के खिलाफ केस दर्ज कराएगा। इस बीच, दिल्ली पुलिस ने मामले की जांच क्राइम ब्रांच को सौंप दी। पुलिस ने लोगों से अफवाह पर ध्यान न देने की अपील की है।

भीम आर्मी के चंद्रशेखर उर्फ रावण जामिया के छात्रों के समर्थन में पहुंचे
जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया विश्वविद्यालय में सोमवार दिनभर चला प्रदर्शन देर शाम को मंगलवार सुबह तक के लिए स्थगित कर दिया गया। शाम होते-होते छात्रों व स्थानीय लोगों की संख्या कम होने लगी। बाद में छात्रों ने रातभर के लिए प्रदर्शन को स्थगित कर दिया। इससे पूर्व शाम को जामिया के छात्रों के समर्थन में भीम आर्मी के चंद्रशेखर उर्फ रावण जामिया पहुंचे। कुछ देर छात्रों के साथ बिताने के बाद चंद्रशेखर वापस लौट गए। 

चंद्रशेखर ने पुलिस बर्बरता का विरोध कर रहे छात्रों का साथ देने की बात कही। जामिया में चल रहे प्रदर्शन के दौरान छात्रों ने रणनीति बनाई थी कि वह कैंपस के बाहर जाकर कोई प्रदर्शन नही करेंगे। इसी रणनीति के तहत छात्र कैंपस के आसपास ही प्रदर्शन करते रहे। छात्रों का कहना था कि सुबह करीब नौ बजे दोबारा छात्र जामिया नगर के गेट नंबर-6 पर जुटेंगे। 

नदवा में पुलिस पर पथराव
उधर, लखनऊ के नदवा कॉलेज में प्रदर्शन कर रहे छात्रों ने पुलिस पर पथराव किया, जिसके बाद कॉलेज 5 जनवरी तक बंद कर दिया गया। इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय में भी हंगामे के चलते छुट्टी कर दी गई और परीक्षाएं स्थगित करनी पड़ीं। अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय में हॉस्टल खाली करा लिए गए हैं और 5 जनवरी तक छुट्टी कर दी गई है।

कायर सरकार जनता से डरती है : प्रियंका
कांग्रेस महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी वाड्रा ने कहा कि देश के विश्वविद्यालयों में छात्रों को घुसकर पीटा जा रहा है। जब सरकार को लोगों की बात सुननी चाहिए तो वह उनका दमन कर रही है। यह लोकतंत्र है, तानाशाही नहीं। छात्र इस लोकतंत्र के मूल में हैं। कायर सरकार ही जनता की आवाज से डरती है।

कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने कहा कि एनडीए सरकार खुद हिंसा और बंटवारे की जननी है। इसने देश को नफरत की खाई में धकेला है और युवाओं के भविष्य को जला रही है। सरकार लोगों को धर्म के नाम पर भड़का रही है। ऐसे देश कैसे चलेगा?

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि नागरिकता कानून के खिलाफ हिंसा दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण और क्षुब्ध करने वाली है। यह कानून किसी धर्म के साथ भेदभाव करने वाला नहीं है। इससे किसी भारतीय नागरिक को डरने की जरूरत नहीं। निहित स्वार्थ वाले गुटों को खुद को बांटने और तनाव पैदा करने की इजाजत नहीं दे सकते।
