Due to the negligence of Deputy Commissioners, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars, the Himachal Government lost more than Rs 15 crore. Seven crore has been lost due to incorrect market value of the property, while 3.94 crore has been lost due to stamp duty and registration fees. 2.61 crores due to less recovery of lease amount and other financial irregularities also cost the government 2.01 crores. This has been revealed in the CAG report.

During 2017-18, there are receipts of 101.40 crores in 155 units of Revenue Department. Out of these, a test check of the records of 73 units incorrectly determined the market value of assets amounting to 15.59 crore in 218 cases. Irregular exemptions on housing loans, non-taking or lowering of stamp duty and registration fees, non-recovery or under recovery of lease deeds and other irregularities have come to light.
