Keeping in mind the solar eclipse falling on 26 December, the Railways has decided to run a special unreserved train between Delhi Junction-Kurukshetra-Delhi Junction and between Jind-Kurukshetra-Jind. It is a tradition to visit Kurukshetra in large numbers on the day of solar eclipse.
Train number 04035 Delhi Junction-Kurukshetra Unreserved Special will depart late at 12:15 am and reach Kurukshetra at 4:10 am. This train enroute to Sabzi Mandi, Azadpur, Adarsh Nagar, Badli, Kheda Kalan, Holambi Kalan, Narela, Rathdhana, Harna Kalan, Sonipat, Sandal Kalan, Rajlu Garhi, Gannaur, Bhodhwal Majri, Samalkha, Deewana, Panipat, Babarpur, Kohand, Gharaunda, Bajida Jattan, Karnal, Bhaini Khurd, Tarawadi, Neelokheri and Amin stations will be halted. In the return direction, train number 04036 from Kurukshetra will leave for Delhi Junction at 3:30 pm and arrive late at 11 pm.
The second train (04037) for Kurukshetra will run at 2 pm and 6:15 am Will arrive at This train enroute to Sabzi Mandi, Azadpur, Adarsh Nagar, Badli, Kheda Kalan, Holambi Kalan, Narela, Rathdhana, Harna Kalan, Sonipat, Sandal Kalan, Rajlu Garhi, Gannaur, Bhodhwal Majri, Samalkha, Deewana, Panipat, Babarpur, Kohand, Gharaunda, Bajida Jattan, Karnal, Bhaini Khurd, Taravadi, Nilokheri and Amin stations will be halted.
Similarly, another train will run between Jind-Kurukshetra-Jind on the day of solar eclipse. Train number 04040 will depart from Jind to Kurukshetra at 5:10 am and reach at 8 am. In the return direction, train number 04039 will depart from Kurukshetra to Jind at 10 am and arrive at 1:45 pm. The train enroute will stop at Barsola, Unchana, Ghoso, Narwana Junction, Gudathuri, Kalayat, Sajuma, Qutubpur, Kaithal, New Kaithal Halt, Jong, Tik, Phewa Road, Pabanwa Jasmender, Pindarsi and Thanesar City stations in both directions.
Railways have made special preparations for the solar eclipse fair. This fair in Kurukshetra will start from 26 December. Travelers from Faridabad, Palwal and Mathura go to the fair by Geeta Jayanti Express. This train leaves Faridabad at seven thirty in the morning and reaches Kurukshetra at quarter to one. Apart from this, people from Faridabad and nearby can go to New Delhi and Old Delhi railway station to go to the solar eclipse fair.
Railways are also going to start some fair special trains from New Delhi and Old Delhi. Therefore, travelers going to the fair can also use special trains to avoid overcrowding. Railways has decided to run two special trains from Old Delhi to reach the people of Delhi NCR including Faridabad at the fair to be held at Kurukshetra on the day of solar eclipse.
Deepak Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer, Northern Railway, told that 04035 special train will run from Old Delhi at 12:30 AM for the solar eclipse fair on 26 December. It will reach Kurukshetra at 4.10 am on the same day. Similarly, 04037 special train
will leave Kurukshetra at 06.15 am on the same day at 02.00 in the morning of 26 December. If necessary, the number of trains can be increased.
