Two people died after slipping on ice in Mandi and Sirmaur district of Himachal. One person was injured due to snowfall in Chamba district while two escaped and saved their lives. Padam Singh (32), a youth going to his grandmother's house in Chet from Rangcha in Mandi to Chetadhar, died after being trapped in snow in Poshuthach.
Padam had left home on Monday evening. His leg slipped on the way and he fell down and got stuck in the snow. He tried to get out of the snow but died in the cold. After searching, the villagers found Padam's body buried under snow. Tehsildar Ballychowki Heera Nand Nalba said that immediate relief of Rs 10,000 has been issued to the families of the deceased.
Virendra alias Pappu, who was returning to his home Kharoti late night from Haripur Dhar, Sirmaur, also slipped on the snow. Gaya. He remained there for several hours. Virendra too succumbed before the people in search could reach.
