Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani while justifying the citizenship amendment law, said on Tuesday that Muslims can choose any of the 150 Islamic countries of the world, but Hindus India is the only country. Addressing the rally outside the Sabarmati Ashram in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the Chief Minister targeted the Congress for opposing the new law. He alleged that the Congress was not respecting the wishes of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the subject.
Rupani said, "In Pakistan at the time of partition (in 1947) 22 percent were Hindus.
