Listen to the news

Seeing increasing tension in US-Iran, Indian Navy has deployed its warships in the Gulf region. India has taken this precautionary measure in the form of trade and protection from sea routes, so that any emergent situation can be dealt with in time. Apart from this, INS Trikhand already deployed in the Gulf of Oman has also been alerted. Naval officials said on Wednesday that warships and aircraft have been deployed in view of the prevailing situation.

Indian businessmen are being assured of security. The situation is being constantly monitored and has been asked to be prepared to deal with any accidental situation. A statement issued by the Navy said that this step has been taken so that Indian business vessels are transported safely and maritime businesses are in a safe manner. The Indian Navy is committed to protecting the country's maritime interests.

INS Trikhand warship is currently stationed in the Gulf of Oman. In addition, INS Sumedha is also stationed in the Gulf of Aden for anti-piracy patrolling. If there was a war between the US and Iran, the responsibility of evacuating all these ships from there would be the responsibility of the Indian Navy, just like Operation Sankalp.

Last year, Navy had conducted Operation Sankalp

In June last year, when two oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman, the Indian Navy evacuated Indian commercial vessels from Operation Sankalp due to fears that the situation would deteriorate. For this, the Indian Navy deployed its warships in the Persian Gulf so that there would not be any obstruction on the sea route in any way. Operation Sankalp has also been made part of the Republic Day parade tableau by the Indian Navy this year.

What is the specialty of Trikhand

INS Trikhand, who was inducted into the Indian Navy in 2013, has a stock of war arms. It has super sonic BrahMos missile system, surface-to-air modern missile cool, medium-range advanced A-190 cannon, submarine destroyer weapons such as torpedoes and rockets. The ship has anti-tank features in addition to reducing radar, magnetic and voice recognition. The ship can carry 31 helicopters simultaneously.

Abstract

  • INS Trikhand, a previously deployed warship in the Gulf of Oman, activated
  • Took steps as trade and protection from sea routes
  • INS Sumedha also for anti-piracy patrolling in the Gulf of Aden
