JNU Attack: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Teachers Association said on Wednesday that the attack in JNU could not have been possible without the connivance of the university administration and the inaction of the police. The Sangh also attacked Vice-Chancellor M Jagdish Kumar's statement in which he has asked the students to forget what happened and return to the university. JNU Teachers Association said how can students return to hostels and classrooms when they do not feel safe? How can teachers come to teach when they do not feel safe? The Sangh said that it is 'salt on the burn' to ask students and faculty to forget and consider administrative terror as normal. The teachers' union said that mob attack would not have been possible without the active cooperation of the administration and the inaction of Delhi Police.
JNU Vice Chancellor M Jagdish Kumar had asked the students on Tuesday to leave the past behind and return to the university campus. Kumar said in a statement – My condolences to all the injured students. The incident (violence) is unfortunate. I would like to tell the students that the JNU campus is a safe place. I urge all students to return to campus. Let us leave all the past behind.
DMK leader Kanimozhi said, we will fight for the students
DMK leader Kanimozhi reached JNU on Wednesday and said her party would fight for the students. During this, she met JNU Students' Union President Aishi Ghosh and other students and got to know her. Kanimozhi first reached the Sabarmati hostel, where the students told her that the security personnel of the university let the masked people come in comfort and the attack was targeted.
The DMK leader looked at those hostel rooms and wondered. Goods were scattered there and glass and furniture were broken. The students told Kanimoi that the attackers knew everything about the hostel situation. The students also demanded the removal of University Vice Chancellor M Jagdish Kumar. The DMK leader said – The whole country is with you. You do not lose heart. Many people have condemned it. We will raise this issue. We will fight for you He also met JNUSU President Aishi Ghosh.
