BJP leaders presenting report card on Delhi's health system

BJP has put Delhi Health Service on ventilator. On the basis of RTI, BJP on Wednesday released a report card on this, in which the Delhi government is not using the budget allocated for the health department in five years, lack of anti rabies vaccine, coughs and colds in hospitals, fever patients. The crowd, Mohalla clinics made many allegations, including no trust of the people.
Information gathered by the Center for Public Policy Research, BJP National Vice President Vinay Sahasrabuddhe released the report card. The report has been prepared after inspecting 44 health centers citing 131 RTIs.
The report accused the government of adding 394 beds in hospitals, opening 292 in place of 1000 Mohalla clinics, with information that 97 dispensaries were down as compared to 2014. On Mohalla clinics, Dr. Sahasrabuddhe said that these clinics are not an alternative to primary health care centers. The haste to open these shows that the Delhi government is focused only on numbers.
On this occasion, BJP MP from South Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri targeted AAP and promised to open 900 Primary Health Center. Mohalla clinics were pretended to mislead the poor. Most clinics remain closed. Vigilance's investigation found equipment in Delhi government hospitals not up to standard.
The Delhi government did not even get it investigated, while the Delhi High Court has also said that the Delhi government hospital lacked infrastructure. Malaria and dengue were controlled by the BJP-ruled MCD and are being credited by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The poor of Delhi are being deprived of the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi said that the Chief Minister had promised to add 30,000 beds, but only 394 beds were added.

The declining health of Delhi can be clearly seen in NITI Aayog's Health Index. Delhi has slipped two places to 5th position in the index of 7 union territories. Director of the research center, Dr. Sumit Bhasin, quoted RTI as saying that there is 66 per cent shortage of lecturers in Delhi hospitals, while 34 per cent of doctors, para medical staff, OT technicians, 29 per cent shortage of lab technicians, shortage of nurses 22 Percent, 40 percent of the administrative staff and 38 percent of the workforce.
