Crime Branch of Delhi Police has started the investigation of JNU violence case at a fast pace. Police have so far received more than 100 videos made from mobiles. Branch teams also reached JNU on Tuesday and started taking statements of injured students and guards.

During this time statements of more than two dozen students and guards were recorded. Police is recreating the scene to identify the accused. Meanwhile, tension remained on campus on Tuesday. A heavy police force was stationed inside and at the gates. Gangnath Road located on the main gate remained closed on Tuesday.

Police had made a public appeal to provide photographs and videos related to the violence. These videos were found after this. A crime branch official said that 51 students were injured in the JNU violence. All of them are made of MLC. Of these, 14 students are associated with ABVP and 25 leftist organizations. 11 students are not associated with any ideology.

The teams of Crime Branch have reached JNU and collected some evidence. However CCTV cameras have not received footage from JNU. CCTV cameras were turned off due to students vandalizing the server.

Police is also investigating WhatsApp group related to violence. According to preliminary investigations, the violence involved people from both sides. It is still under investigation whether the outside masked people were from JNU or came from outside. Police is making efforts to identify the accused with the help of people giving information to the PCR.

Police sought information from common people in JNU violence case

Delhi Police Has issued a notice on Tuesday, asking the public for information, photos, videos related to the JNU violence case. Several forensic teams are also involved in the investigation of the case. A number of teams from the physical, chemical and biological departments of the Forensic Lab are investigating on campus.
