New Delhi

The premises of different educational institutions are boiling over the displeasure of the students at this time. Their displeasure is not about the CAA or NRC at the moment. The protest against CAA and NRC started at Jamia University in Delhi, but the violence and the police action to deal with it changed the issue of agitation among students. The CAA and NRC were replaced by the issue of 'police repression against students' and this issue united the students.

Students from educational institutions from different parts of the country to abroad were seen coming forward to protest the 'barbaric' action of the police on the students of Jamia University. The issue had not even cooled down completely that a major incident occurred again at JNU in Delhi. Incidentally, even in this development, 'religion' could not be touched, due to which once again students from different educational institutions from the country to the world got an opportunity to show their commitment with the students of JNU.

In such a situation, it becomes meaningless that there is no 'disturbance' among students in totality, but only in some educational institutions with special ideology, which is 'unrest' by some political parties.

Why BJP should worry

Actually, perception has a lot of importance. The incident that happened first with Jamia and then with JNU students seems to create a perception among the students that 'the government machinery has come down to repression and the government does not want to listen to the students'. Being of a different ideology cannot be crushed through oppression. If this can happen in one campus, the same incident can be repeated in another campus as well. This belief has given the students of different educational institutions in the country the opportunity to unite in favor of the students of Jamia and JNU and to create anger against the government.

First Time Voters played an important role in 2014

For this reason, there is a need for the BJP to worry. In 2014, BJP's 'Vijay Yatra' under the leadership of Narendra Modi played a big role in the 18+ age group of voters studying in educational institutions. Voters of this age group had a desire to see something new in the country and it seemed that Narendra Modi can make his dreams come true. The craze for Modi among the voters of this age group was never seen before for any other leader. This trend continued unabated, due to which the leadership of Narendra Modi in 2019, the BJP achieved a bigger success than in 2014.

Students continued to find themselves more 'connected' to Narendra Modi than other leaders and were convinced of their vision as well. The number of students of the same age group of Indian origin is the highest among those who have crossed the craze for Narendra Modi abroad. But if students start feeling that their community (student fraternity) hearing has stopped, then it is natural for them to be disenchanted and if that happens then the BJP may have to bear the loss. The support of the students community is very important for any political party and in India, when there are more young voters than the whole world, then no other argument is needed to understand their importance.

Risk of loss increased

Sudhindra Kulkarni, who was very close to the former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, also says that the kind of response the students have seen in all the recent developments is enough to indicate that they are Narendra Modi, BJP and Disappointed with the central government and angry. In the elections from 2014 to 2019, this class was the largest supporting group of BJP. If someone says that the students are not angry or are trying to show displeasure in a sponsored way, then it is a kind of cover up of the truth. The students are not agitated only because of the brutal action taken with them in their campuses but they are also not agree with the decision taken by the CAA / NRC at the government level before that. This is the reason that whatever movement took place in different parts of the country, the most important participation has been in this class.

Government too vigilant

After the JNU incident, the government was seen to react rapidly to prevent increasing student resentment. The country's Home Minister Amit Shah immediately sought a report from the authorities. HRD minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also tweeted about the JNU violence. It was said on behalf of the government that action will be taken against those who are found guilty for the violence. However, the government and BJP are not ready to believe that there is any resentment among the students about it.
