Kochi. In Kochi city of Kerala, the administration Saturday blasted two multi-storey residential buildings Holi Faith H-20 and Alpha Seren. There were 90 flats in the 19-storey Holy Faith and 80 flats in the 16-storey Alpha Serene. The Supreme Court in September last year ordered the demolition of four such buildings due to violation of seaside construction rules. Two other buildings, the Golden Kayalorum and the Jain Coral, will be demolished on Sunday. The court gave 138 days to demolish all four buildings. According to officials, about 800 kg of explosives were used to topple Holy Faith and Alpha Seren. In terms of security, Section-144 was installed within a radius of 200 meters from the buildings. There was a ban on flying drones around. The helicopters of the security forces visited the airspace and the boats inspected the sea area. About 500 policemen were deployed on the streets. Apart from these, a team of 300 people was controlling traffic and congestion.
