Congress Legislature Party meeting has been convened at 9:45 am on Tuesday in the state assembly premises. All the Congress MLAs will be present in the meeting convened by the Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri. The Congress MLA will support the reservation bill in the assembly house. It is noteworthy that this reservation bill is to be given reservation in the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Vidhan Sabha to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for a period of ten years.
The period of this reservation is being completed on 25 January. To extend this period, it is mandatory to pass the reservation bill in at least fifty percent of the legislative assemblies. If this bill is passed, the duration of reservation benefit to these classes can be extended. It is said that the Congress is also in favor of continuing the reservation given to SC ST for the last 70 years. For this reason, members of Congress will also support the bill.
