Ranchi. The NIA investigating the terror funding case has arrested a businessman of Ranchi, Sudesh Kedia and Musabani transporter Ajay Kumar Singh on Friday. The NIA is investigating the issue of funding in mining, business and transport from Amrapali and Magadha coal projects at Tandwa, Chatra. Sudesh Kedia of Ranchi lives in Ratu Road. While the second accused Ajay Kumar Singh is from Musabani in East Singhbhum. After the arrest, the two were produced in the court of NIA Special Judge Navneet Kumar. The court has sent both of them to judicial custody till Monday. He will be presented again in the court on 13 January. Sudesh Kedia's name is revealed for the first time. Police was investigating this matter earlier. Sudesh Kedia was not named in the FIR lodged at the time. Later, in the investigation of NIA, his name came. The levy on Kedia is intended to play an active role in the planning and sharing of the levy.

In the Terror funding case, on 23 August 2019, GM of Modern Power, Sanjay Jain, transporter Sudhanshu Ranjan alias Chhotu, CCL personnel Subhan Khan, TSPC Naxalite Bindeshwar Ganjhu, Pradeep Ram Charges were framed against Ajay Singh Bhokta, Vinod Ganjhu, Munesh Ganjhu and Birbal Ganjhu. They are all in jail. The NIA had filed a charge sheet against a total of 14 accused in the case. Five were absconding. Two more were arrested.

Sudesh Kedia has been associated with coal business for five years. Sudesh Kedia, who belongs to a middle class family, was involved in transport and motor parts business till a few years ago. After getting into the coal business, he started having discussions about a lot of money.
What's the whole case
On 22/18 FIR lodged at Tandwa police station, NIA started the investigation while taking over. The case relates to the levy recovery for coordination between CCL, police, militants and peace committee. The NIA had filed a charge sheet against 14 accused, including CCL employee Subhan Khan. It was written in the charge sheet that the coal transportation contract was taken from Magadha and Amrapali coal project at a higher rate to levy TSPC. In this, TSPC militant attack G had recommended and transporter Sudhanshu Ranjan alias Chhotu Singh got the contract. The bulk of the amount received went to TSPC.
