New Delhi. Chinook and Apache helicopters recently inducted into the Airforce will join fly past for the first time on the occasion of the Republic Day Parade. Chinook is a transport chopper, while an Apache fighter helicopter flying at over 350 km / h.
A senior Air Force officer said on Monday that 3 Chinooks would fly in the "Vic 'Formation. This would be followed by an Apache helicopter in the flypast. 5 Apaches would fly in the" Arrowhead' formation.
Flypast will include 45 aircraft
- Senior officer said- The flypast will comprise 41 Air Force aircraft and 4 helicopters of Army Aviation Wing.
- 16 fighter jets, 10 transport aircraft and 19 helicopters. The fly past will be in two stages.
- The first Mi-15 and V-5 helicopters will fly in the "Y 'Formation", also known as the Wine Glass Formation, leading the Republic Day Parade.
- After this, 4 helicopters of Army Aviation Wing will fly in "Dhruv" Formation.
- The second part of the fly past will begin after the parade at Rajpath. The first Air Force 3 Mk-5 WSI helicopter will fly in the "Vic 'Formation.
- After this, 3 Chinooks will also fly in the "Vic 'Formation then fly past the 3C-130J Super Hercules. Two Sukhoi-30 MKIs will fly in the" Eye' Formation, 3C-17 Globemaster in "Globe 'Formation.
- In the fly past, 5 Jaguars, 5 MiG-29s will also fly. After this, 3 Sukhoi from Jodhpur Air Force Station will fly in "Trishul" Formation and finally Sukhoi will fly from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate in "Vertical Charlie" Formation. It will fly 60 to 300 meters above the ground.

The Republic Day Parade will be led by Wing Commander Vipul Goel. Air Force spokesman Group Captain Anupam Banerjee gave this information on Monday. He said- Wing Commander Vipul Goel will lead the combined inter-service guards of the three armies and paramilitary forces. The Republic Day celebrations will begin with the unfurling of the national flag at Rajpath.
