In 2008, the police claimed that a person named Satyam Babu was called Arrested for stealing, he confessed to killing Ayesha. In 2010, Satyam Babu, who is suffering from a brain disorder, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Vijayawadi women's court but in 2017 the High Court acquitted him and handed over the investigation to the CBI.
Ayesha's parents Has alleged that the police have criminalized Satyam Babu so that Koneru Satish can be saved. The relatives of the deceased have given their consent for the autopsy again. However he does not expect much because the case has passed 11 years.
