Vintage Cars Registration Rule: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued a notification saying that vintage cars in the country will get new special number plates very soon. Its specialty will be that 'VA' will now be included in the registration number of these cars. It will be used just after the state code. For example, if a car is from the state of Delhi, its number will be (DL VA XX 8127).
In this notification issued by the Ministry, it is also said that the vehicles which will be classified as vintage models will also be verified. According to this, cars which would have been registered 50 years ago will be kept in this category. In addition, a Vintage Motor Vehicle State Committee (VMVSC) will be set up in each state which will examine the old condition of the car and also have the right to accept or reject it.

After the approval of the Vintage Motor Vehicles State Committee, the Vintage Motor Vehicles State Registration Authority (VMVSRA) will provide a registration number (registration number) to these vehicles. This registration certificate will be valid for 10 years, after which it can be renewed.
The draft draft for this new rule also states that vehicle owners cannot regularly use these vintage cars on public roads. The vehicle owner can use it for display in an exhibition, rally, show or museum. However these vintage cars will be allowed to run on the roads for refueling or maintenance etc.
