Fire in methanol tank at Kandla port

On Monday, four persons died after a fire broke out in a methanol storage tank of a private company near Kandla port in Kutch district of Gujarat. According to the police, an employee of the M / S IMC terminal located about 16 km from Gandhidham in Kutch district and three workers were climbing the roof of the storage tank and making regular inspections when the tank roof blew with the explosion.
(Eastern) Superintendent of Police Parikshit Rathore said that the fire started in the afternoon. Efforts are being made to overcome the fire. He said that many fire vehicles and a large number of fire personnel are engaged in the task of extinguishing the fire. He said that the bodies of all the four dead have been recovered from the scene and are being sent for postmortem.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Wagh and the three workers have been identified as Sanjay Sahu, Darshan Rai and Omprakash Reger.
