A senior police officer informed that 35 out of 50 students have been released from Kalkaji police station, while 15 students have been released from New Friends Colony police station. Earlier, the protesters fiercely burnt 3 buses, vandalizing several vehicles. Violent protesters severely damaged a fire engine that was extinguishing the fire. On the other hand, the Jamia administration alleged that the police barged into the campus and brutally beat the students.
Delhi Minorities Commission gave instructions to police
Earlier, the Delhi Minorities Commission (DMC) directed the SHO of Kalkaji Police Station to release the injured students of Jamia Millia University or take them to hospital for treatment. The order issued by the commission said that the SHOs will be responsible if there is any problem in the custody of the injured students.
DMC President Zafarul Islam has directed SHO of Kalkaji Police Station to file compliance report by 3 pm on Monday. On the basis of which the commission will take necessary action.
