Two more Deputy Chief Ministers may be appointed in Karnataka. It is believed that Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa will soon expand the cabinet. It may be announced after 20 December. The cabinet already has three deputy chief ministers, Govind Karjol, CN Ashwathnarayan and Lakshman Savadi.
However, Sawadi denied any such discussion, calling it media speculation. With this, Sawadi said, whatever decision the state and central leadership take, we will accept it. In fact, in the by-election results on December 9, the BJP was able to win 12 seats due to rebel leaders of Congress and JDS.
Most of these are believed to be ministers. According to the ongoing discussion within the party, Ramesh Jarkiholi, who was elected MLA from Gokak in the
by-election, is one of the main contenders for the post of deputy CM. Apart from this, Sriramulu has also openly claimed this position many times.
