After the Maharashtra elections, the issue of Savarkar has once again arisen. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's statement on Savarkar has gone unpunished to the Shiv Sena running the government with the support of Congress and NCP in Maharashtra. While senior party leader Sanjay Raut called Rahul Gandhi's statement unfortunate and asked him to read a little on Savarkar, BSP chief Mayawati has called the Congress a playwright, targeting the Congress.

Meanwhile, Savarkar's grandson Ranjit Savarkar also jumped into the fight and demanded the government to take criminal action against Rahul. Mayawati tweeted and said, "The Shiv Sena is still on its core agenda, so they supported the central government on the Citizenship Amendment Bill and now they are not tolerant of the attitude of the Congress about Savarkar. However, the Congress party is still with the Shiv Sena in the Maharashtra government, so all this is not the double character of the Congress, what else is there?

Congress must clarify its position in this matter. Otherwise, to divert the attention of the public from their own party's weaknesses, it would be considered as mere drama. After the uproar over the rape-in-India statement, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Saturday that his name is not 'Rahul Savarkar', he will never apologize.

Shiv Sena bid history from Rahul's statement Will not change
After this statement of Rahul Gandhi, Shiv Sena shouted. Speaking to a private TV channel, Shiv Sena spokesman Sanjay Raut said, "History will not change with Rahul Gandhi's statement." Giving Rahul the advice to read about Savarkar, Raut said, Rahul cannot tear the pages of history.

Savarkar has contributed to the independence of the country. Rahul's statement will not diminish Savarkar's importance. Amid growing impasse over the issue with the Congress, the Shiv Sena said that the Shiv Sena is maintaining its old stand on Savarkar.

Bhujbal said, Savarkar had said, cow is not our mother
Meanwhile, NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal said, when it comes to big celebrities, not everyone agrees on everything. Rahul ji has his own views about Savarkar. Savarkar had said that the cow is not our mother, but the BJP considers her a mother. Savarkar's thinking was also intellectual, but can the BJP accept it? They cannot.

Uddhav-Sonia and Pawar will take the right decision
Whereas, NCP leader Ajit Pawar was asked whether the Savarkar issue was Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra i.e. NCP- Will the Congress-Shiv Sena alliance impact? So in response, he said, Uddhav, Sonia and Pawar Saheb are mature people and they will take the right decision.

Veer Savarkar's grandson Ranjit Savarkar has also objected to Rahul's statement. Ranjit said, appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to publicly beat Rahul Gandhi for insulting the late Hindutva hero. He reminded Shiv Sena chief Uddhav of his statement in which he said that those who insult Veer Savarkar should be beaten at public crossroads. Rahul has been constantly accusing my grandfather of apologizing to the British, which is totally wrong.

He also said that it is a good thing that Rahul's name is not Savarkar, otherwise we would have had to hide our face in shame. He said that he should be thankful to his grandmother Indira Gandhi, because he removed Nehru from his name. First his name was Indira Gandhi Nehru, then removed the word Nehru. Because, if the word Nehru was in his name, today people would call him the descendants of slaves.

Government should take criminal action
Ranjit said that anyone should know about him (Veer Savarkar) I should not say derogatory words. The government should take criminal action against Rahul. He said that he would file a defamation suit in the High Court against Rahul's statement. He has advised the Shiv Sena government that after Rahul's statement, Uddhav Thackeray sacked Congress ministers from his cabinet and runs a minority government, as the BJP will not vote against his government, but will support him.

Digvijay said, apologizing for the honor of Savarkar Separate history
Digvijay said that there are two aspects of Savarkar's life. One, while fighting against the British rule, he was sentenced and sent to Kalapani. 'Gandhi' in Rahul's name is disrespect to the word Gandhi. He should not disrespect Gandhi by using the word Gandhi in his surname. He can never become Gandhi or Savarkar. This has hurt the nation.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday, Rahul should apologize unconditionally . It seems that Rahul has not read the history of the freedom movement. He also said, BJP will boycott the formal tea party hosted by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
