A case of ragging has been reported from the student of class VIII at Sujanpur Tehra, the highest military officer and the only military school in Himachal. The parents of Manali region have taken the child home. The police have registered a case under the Himachal Pradesh Educational Institution Prohibition of Ragging Act 2009.
The victim's father has given a complaint to the Hamirpur Police by e-mail. It is alleged that his child has been tortured by a student of class X. This has endured their child. Principal Captain AK Paul stated that the student whose parents made allegations of ragging has run away from school twice.
The allegations of ragging are unfounded. If there was ragging then why the complaint was made only after the child was removed from school. SP Hamirpur Earnest Sen said that the school has holidays till 22 January. Now only after the school opens, further action will be implemented.
It is noteworthy that this is probably the first case of ragging in Sainik School. This has raised questions on the safety of students. This school is from VI to XII. There is a hostel facility for children.
The Ministry of Defense has honored this school for having selected the most children in the NDA in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
