New Delhi
The results of the last assembly election of the year went by giving a state and many question-signals. There are many contradictions in this, so many new trends on which political churning will happen in the coming days. This is also going to have an impact on national politics. Last time, in Jharkhand, the pre-election coalition has seen the government with full majority for the first time. Yet this had never happened in the history of the state. Last time, BJP alone won 37 seats and remained 4 seats away from the majority. Later formed government with AJSU. Also, for the first time in the form of Raghuvar Das, there was a government which completed its term. This indicates a return to the era of stable politics in the state.
In Jharkhand, BJP was badly defeated on local issues apart from the anger of tribal voters. BJP's attempt to push the election towards national issues also proved to be a complete failure. The new trend of voting in different patterns in the state and center elections was also established. In just 6 months, BJP's vote fell by more than 20 percent. Obviously, there will be a round of different strategies for every election. After 2014, BJP had achieved success in both the places with the same formula, but now it seems to be breaking. For this, the theory of double engine was given by BJP which was rejected by the people of Jharkhand.
BJP away from power even with the most votes
Once again Maya of vote share followed BJP. Despite the party getting 33.5 percent of the vote, it continued to struggle till it became the largest party. JMM got 19.29 per cent, Congress 13.78 per cent and RJD 2.82 per cent. Accordingly, the alliance got about 36 percent of the vote. The picture could have changed if the BJP had maintained an alliance with AJSU, which got 8.14 percent of the vote. If we look at the vote share, the break-up of the alliance with AJSU proved to be a major setback for the BJP. Also, if you look at the recent elections, according to the manner in which the BJP is getting votes in the assembly elections, the seats are getting less. This happened in many states including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh. According to Election Analyst K Yashwant Deshmukh, this is because the BJP is winning by a large margin in its strong region and is losing the election by a small margin in the second place.
Hemant's real challenge now
BJP had to bear the brunt of Tribal's anger. But now the challenge to fulfill the promise made to him will be in front of Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren had a long list of his election promises. The issue of local and external was also raised. There were also indications of changes in land policy. Moving forward on these promises will not be very easy.
