Gujarat Assembly Speaker Rajendra Trivedi claimed on Friday that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had given credit for drafting the constitution to BN Rao, who was a Brahmin. Trivedi said that eight of the nine eminent personalities of the country who received the Nobel Prize were Brahmins. These include economist Abhijeet Banerjee.
On the occasion of the Mega Brahmin Business Summit, Trivedi said, do you know that after studying the constitution of 60 countries, our constitution was made. We all take Dr. Ambedkar's name with all due respect, but Ambedkar himself said that the draft was prepared by BN Rao. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also present in the program.
The Speaker of the Assembly said, do you know that the constitutions of 60 countries were studied and then the constitution was drafted. Do you know who drafted BR Ambedkar? Whenever it comes to the Constitution we all name Ambedkar with respect.
He said, but in his own words, the draft was prepared by BN Rao (Brahmin). History shows that Brahmins always outdo others. It was Rao who put
Ambedkar ahead of him. We are proud of Ambedkar because he confessed it in his speech in the Constituent Assembly on November 25, 1949.
